What does your Two-Year Limited Warranty cover?

Our Two-Year Limited Warranty guarantees that your belts will be OEM quality. This covers all manufacturing defects (e.g. camber) on recommended belting using recommended fasteners installed by EX-CEL.

The Two-Year Limited Warranty may not apply if failure is caused by lacing not installed by EX-CEL, improper application, abuse, or neglect. Any belt determined to be defective in workmanship or quality during the first two years from the Sale Date, under normal conditions of use, will be repaired or replaced. Fastener failure is exempt from this warranty. All returns must have prior authorization with an assigned RMA number. Return freight must be paid by the customer except as directed by EX-CEL. Collect shipments will not be accepted.

Restocking Charge on non-warranty returns: A 25% restocking fee may apply to all returned merchandise that EX-CEL agrees to restock. Used items will not be considered.

How can you price your belts so affordably and stay in business?

By selling direct to farmers, we save on overhead—savings we pass on to you. EX-CEL is more than a distributor. We are involved directly with the development, manufacture, and quality control of our 9000 Series baler belting. Shortening the supply chain from the manufacturing point to you saves you money.

Are EX-CEL belts as good as what originally came on my baler?

In many cases, the quality of EX-CEL’s 9000 Series baler belts will exceed the quality of belts that were Original Equipment on your baler. In other cases, EX-CEL belts were the belts that were Original Equipment on your baler. No matter what the case may be, we back our baler belts with an industry leading Two-Year Limited Warranty that guarantees the OEM quality of our baler belting.

Can I buy a single baler belt or do I need to purchase a full set?

You can buy baler belts individually, however, we caution that you match up as best you can with what is currently on the baler. For example, mixing belts with different fabric ply counts, different top cover patterns, and (in a few cases) from different manufacturers can lead to subpar performance of your baler.

Also, it is important that belt lengths are similar. New belts come at the OEM-recommended length and may be longer or shorter than what you currently have on your baler. This disparity could lead to tracking issues which, in extreme instances, could damage your belting. Improper application could invalidate your warranty.

I’m having belt tracking issues with a belt I purchased from you. Is something wrong with the belt?

Tracking issues can be caused by many things. If you are mixing new belts with old belts, you will want to verify that the lengths and belt types match per OEM specifications. This solves many tracking issues. If you continue to have belt tracking issues, please give our belting experts a call for further troubleshooting. Our Toll Free phone number is 877-334-3725, or you can email us at sales@excelbelting.com.

How do I file a warranty claim?

It is often the case that we can diagnose a belting issue over the phone. If you are having issues with your belting, please call us toll-free at 877-334-3725.

In cases where there is a legitimate quality issue, you will need to call or email us to obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number and further instructions on how to process a warranty claim. All warranty claims will require the return of the complete belt and all components for inspection. Any alterations to the belt may void your warranty.

What maintenance do my baler belts require?

Use only connecting pins that are recommended for your fastener type.

Changing your connecting pins often is the easiest and least expensive maintenance you can perform on your belts. How often depends on what type of connecting pin you are using, how much you bale in a season, baling conditions, storage conditions, and individual pin wear. A good rule of thumb is to change the pin no less than each baling season, though you may need to do so more often, depending on the variables above.

Protecting your belts from the elements while not in use will also help lengthen the life span of your belts.

Routine inspection of your belts, fasteners, and pins may help identify small problems before they become big problems.

Following the maintenance schedule as prescribed by your baler OEM is highly recommended.

Are any belts not covered by your warranty?

Almost every standard belt is covered by our warranty. However, in some cases belts may not be. Belts that may void the warranty include but are not necessarily limited to: non-standard belts, custom length and/or custom width belts, belts that are not recommended belt types for your baler make and/or model, and belts using fasteners not recommended for your baler make, model, or belt type.

Belts that are improperly used, abused, neglected, or damaged by extraneous means like debris or from an improperly maintained baler will not be considered for warranty replacement.

If you are not sure if a belt carries our warranty, please feel free to call us toll-free at 877-334-3725 or email us at sales@excelbelting.com.

Are the lengths/widths listed on the site for my baler correct?

The listed dimensions and number of belts per baler are based on standard OEM specifications and are for reference only. In some cases, certain baler models may have different configurations because of limited manufacturing runs or aftermarket modifications. It is your responsibility to ensure that the belts you are ordering will match what is currently on your baler. Also, note that older belts may be shorter or longer than OEM specifications due to normal wear, tear, and/or repair. In some cases, belts may be narrower due to abrasion on belt guides or due to baler modifications.

How do you measure the length of your belts?

The correct way to measure belt length depends on whom you ask. Belt end to belt end, tip of lace to tip of lace, and center pin to center pin are all acceptable ways to measure belt length. We typically measure belt end to belt end and our belts maintain OEM length tolerances.

When measuring belts that have been on your baler, we recommend that you lay them out overnight in a dry, preferably climate-controlled environment, before measuring the length. Belts that have recently been under tension will measure differently than belts that have not been under tension, even if they are the same length under load. Lay belts out flat and measure belt length. Belts that should be the same length should remain within a 1” tolerance of each other for best results. If your belts vary much more than that in length, you may need to resize them.
